2day, not 2morrow!
Putting off decisions can be a good thing because it gives us time for reflection. But it’s bad news when this approach becomes a general pattern. We often delay solving a problem because we hope it will somehow go away. But of course it won’t.

When we put the problem on the back burner, the pot usually ends up boiling over. By then it’s too late to solve the problem – which causes further problems and feelings of guilt. We know this scene very well – there’s nothing new in it and it could easily have been prevented. But how?

They say that procrastination is the source of all my problems.
I don’t really know what that means – I’ll look it up next week.

Would you like to know how I have learned to overcome procrastination? If I have something unpleasant to do and don’t want to do it right away, I put it into my calendar, where it is automatically forwarded day by day. At some point I get tired of seeing this note again and again, say “enough is enough,” and get it done.

If procrastination has become a big problem for you, you might want to take a look at an interesting handout from the University of North Carolina that I came across. It provides a lot of good information. You can access it here

The calendar method works well for me. How about giving it a try yourself?
